Dr. Toshi Hart, DDS, is a dedicated Dental Sleep Medicine and TMD Specialist with a passion for helping patients achieve better health through improved sleep and less pain. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in 1989 before pursuing a career in dentistry graduating from the Arthur A. Dugoni University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, San Francisco in 1992. She completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Palo Alto in 1993 with rotations at Stanford and Valley Medical Center. She served 6 years in public health, as Dental Director for the Alliance Medical Center Dental Clinic in Healdsburg, CA. She spent over 20 years in private practice in Modesto before being invited by Dr. Peter Chase, her former professor, to join his practice in Walnut Creek.
With a deep commitment to advancing the field of airway development and dental sleep medicine, Dr. Hart has authored several articles on sleep apnea and its impact on overall health. She is a sought-after speaker at continuing education seminars and medical conventions, where she shares her expertise on the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Peter Chase was the director of the University of the Pacific Orofacial Disorders Center; a multidisciplinary clinic focused on the evaluation and treatment of obstructive sleep disorders (OSD/OSA) and Temporomandibular disorders (TMD/TMJ).
Dr. Chase authored multiple scientific articles and contributed to several textbooks. He lectured widely and acquired a Master’s Degree in Dental Education. He was on the credentialing board for the American Sleep and Breathing Academy and the faculty of the Contra Costa Sleep Center.
Dr. Chase fouded this practice in Walnut Creek 7 years ago with care limited to oral appliance therapy for OSA and TMD/TMJ conditions.
Dr. Chase published two books: The Integrated Medical Dental System and Sleep Medicine and Oral Appliance Therapy. He also served as a consultant to insurance companies, legal entities and government organizations.
